What is an iftar?

An iftar is the meal with which Muslims break the fast during the holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan is the fasting period when Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset, meaning they do not eat or drink during daylight hours. So iftar is the breaking of the fast. It is often a special and festive meal enjoyed with family, friends and the community.

Although iftar has religious significance, anyone - regardless of religion, culture, or background - can participate. It's a great opportunity to meet new people, enjoy delicious food, and embrace common values of respect, tolerance, and understanding.

Sign up through our Community Platform today so we can provide food for everyone! 🥰 (We have a 14-day free trial so you can attend for free, then it's only 29 euro/year!)
