Karina has loved being on a stage and in front of an audience from a very young age. Because of this, public speaking felt natural and part of her personality. Because she also came into contact with it a lot in her professional life, she practiced and learned things that positively influenced and completely changed her way of presenting. In the first keynote, she talks about how the goal beats the fear and how the scope of a speech goes beyond the stage. The second part of the evening will be a workshop, led by Sandra D'Amario. In this workshop she shares tips and techniques on public speaking that will help you feel comfortable in front of an audience and how to speak with confidence. As everyone knows, 'practice makes perfect', which is applied here with a high level of interactivity where you get the chance to take the stage yourself and put the tips and techniques into practice. Who is Karina Quiñonez?
Originally from El Salvador, Karina Quiñonez has been living in Belgium since 2005. With more than 25 years of experience in the IT world, she is currently Customer Adoption Manager at Dynatos. She started 25 years ago as a programmer and evolved into an analyst, tester, documenter, trainer, ... you name it! She is also the co-founder of Xten - Encuentros para crecer, a non-profit initiative started by four friends. This initiative aims to contribute to the personal growth of Spanish-speaking women and, as a side-effect, they have created the warmest community of Spanish-speaking women in Belgium!
Who is Sandra D'Amario?
Sandra D'Amario with her Italian roots, has over 23 years of working experience in IT. After studying languages, she started working on the IT Helpdesk at Electronic Data Systems. After positions as team lead in IT Messaging and Collaboration and Workplace Services Manager, she moved on to one of the top FMCG companies in the world, namely Danone. Here she took up the role of IT Manager in Belgium. Besides a career in IT, she is also a long time member of Toastmasters in Antwerp. Here, she focuses on practicing public speaking in a friendly environment. Because of this experience, she is also part of the organisation team of TEDxAntwerp where she has contributed as a speaker coach for the last four editions. With her experience, she is the perfect person to give tips & tricks on public speaking!
