Wikipedia is widely used as a reference to document our history. Anyone can contribute to it, but Wikipedia itself reported that 85% of the writers are men. This creates bias in the documentation. On this Wikithon, an initiative of Valerie Tanghe, chairwoman of Amazone vzw, we will contribute as a group!

WHAT?

In several places in Belgium, organizations are organizing "hubs" to bring together people who want to co-write to put our list of female figures on Wikipedia. This is preceded by a short writing session with instructions on how to write a wikipedia page properly, given by Wikimedia.

WHEN?

On April 25, international Girls in ICT day between 18-20h we will meet from Clusity online to write. You can continue writing afterwards in your free time of course, but we all try to make 1 or 2 pages in these 2 hours. There is a counter that keeps track of how many pages we have written together!

HOW?

Subscribe to the online Wikiton hub through our platform. You will receive the link in your mailbox. For the rest, you don't have to prepare anything. A list of names and resources will be provided from the organization to get started! This will be in the format of a pdf with links to the necessary information about the person, a short description and so on. :)

Register now on our Clusity platform to attend all events for free!
