Keynote 1: Unlocking the Full Potential of your Data: A guide to Agile Governance

Our first speaker, Sophie Angenot, Managing Partner at QuaData will talk about the importance of Agile Data Governance during her keynote. "Data is valuable," is something we often hear. But, let's face it, data can also be a real headache if not managed correctly. What is the importance of standards for compliance, quality, availability and usability? How can we make this smoother? Why does it have to be so difficult when this can also just be super fun? Sophie talks about why she believes the future of data lies in "Agile data governance." Find out in this talk what the full potential is of an organization becoming an agile data power-center.

Who is Sophie Angenot?

Sophie has more than 15 years of experience in Data Quality and Data Governance. She gained that experience at companies such as Dun&Bradstreet (now Alatres) and Bisnode Belgium (now Black Tiger). In 2014, she founded QuaData. As Managing Partner, Sophie works with her team of consultants to help clients become champions In Data Quality, Master Data Management and Data Compliance by implementing Agile Data Governance.

Agile Data Governance is a methodology developed by QuaData that brings together the best of both worlds: Data Governance and the principles of lean and agile data management. It makes Data Governance more value-driven and makes it easier to manage the change that always accompanies these types of programs.

Keynote 2: Human Factors in AI: from algorithms to products.

AI is increasingly being used for better decision-making, but success also depends on cross-functional, flexible teams, including data engineers, architects, visualization experts and AI translators. Elena Nuñez Castellar is Artificial Intelligence lead and translator at Sparkle and works with Karolien Scheerlinck at VDAB to guide them from algorithms to products to customer journeys. In their talk, they talk about this journey.

Who are Elena Nuñez Castellar & Karolien Scheerlinck?

Elena works as an AI lead & translator consultant at Sparkle-Cronos Group. She has an interdisciplinary profile gained by working in the fields of cognitive and network neuroscience, Artificial Intelligence (AI), New media technologies and user research. In recent years, she has focused on AI innovation management, the translation of AI basic research into practical applications and the mapping of AI ground-breaking projects in Europe during her work at the European Research council (ERC). She is passionate about the human aspects of technology. Her current interests lie at the intersection of technology foresights and the potential cognitive and affective impact of emerging digital and online services on users.

Karolien Scheerlinck's career started as a research engineer at Infrabel with a master's degree in Bioscience Engineering and a PhD in "Mathematical modeling, Statistics and Bioinformatics" under her belt. In 2014, she started working for Be-Mobile as a research engineer in the innovation lab. In 2017, she was hired by VDAB as a data scientist in the innovation lab. There she worked on VDAB's first Artificial Intelligence model "Distance to the labor market." This model is used to prioritize job seekers according to their probability of finding a job. In 2020, she became team manager and transformed the lab into VDAB's AI Center of Excellence. This team has a track record of award-winning tools, such as our AI job matching engine Jobnet and our orientation tool Jobreach.
