Fasten your seatbelts, this rocket is launching! 🚀On June 24th, we had our first Clusity event ever!

The Clusity Kick-Off Event took place ‘in real life’ with around 20 people. It’s funny how COVID makes us mention that, but for a lot of people it was their first live event in over a year! We wanted to create an occasion to report back to everyone who’s been helping with our journey so far. Specifically we invited all the interviewees from our qualitative research. These amazing people are all managing partners or strong female professionals from the Cronos Groep who we really wanted to meet in person.

The focus of our activities for the past few months has been researching and analyzing. We’ve done a extensive qualitative and quantitative research in order to formulate the most impactful activities that Clusity can provide for our women. Now, it was time to share our findings and announce our activities!

The Findings

Some of the findings from the interviews were things that almost everyone mentioned. The most prominent one was about the importance of your professional network in order to grow in your career. The people you already know are the ones who’re most likely to present you new opportunities.

A second thing that was mentioned often was about the impact of rolemodels. Stories from people who have things in common with you and who are pursuing similar ambitions to yours are a big motivator to believe in yourself.

Our Activities

After formulating our conclusions, it was time to come up with an action plan. Our main question was: how can Clusity help Cronos to hire more women, help them grow and stay with us?

That is how we came to our 3 main activities:

Bloom:

Bloom is our program about female rolemodels. We’re putting 1 woman in the picture every week to share their inspiring story and help them gain visibility. There are a lot powerful and awesome women in our group, so our goal is to make them known.

Roots:

With Roots we’ll be organizing (hopefully) bi-weekly events and workshops where our community can meet each other and learn something new.

Community management:

We want to be both a dooropener and active matchmaker for people within our network. This means that we seek after possible joint business, put people together where we think there might be a spark or help them meet likeminded people.

What’s Next?

Starting from July, we’ll be posting a Bloom story every week on our website and social media. These will be followed up by a few try-out keynotes/workshops during the summer. In September, the actual Roots program will start. We’re planning bi-weekly events both online and offline.

That was a lot of info! What we hope you take away from this article is that we had a great kick-off, and we’ll soon start with our activities. In the first place you’ll see our ‘Bloom Stories’ about rolemodels within the Cronos Groep. Later this summer you might already receive an invitation to one of our first public events!

Everyone on the event received a small plant to take home. We went a little crazy with the metaphor of biodiversity and how it makes an ecosystem work, so we had a bunch of different types of plants. But in all honesty, we just wanted to make gardening a part of our job. 😂
