Guided Breathing Session 🧘🏾‍♀️

🗨️ English

💸 Online & Free

⚠️ Potentially life-changing

Breathwork is a technique for re-energizing. We heard from many women in our community that they are using this to focus in the sometimes hectic tech landscape. We asked fellow woman-in-tech and professional breathing coach Sabrina Defeyter to give an (intense 😉 ) session!

Through the combination of your own breathing, voice guidance and music, you will go on a deeper exploration into your subconscious mind. Sabrina will be your guide, making sure that you can feel safe at all times to welcome without inhibitions all the impressions that surface during the session. This will be an intense experience anyway, requiring some effort and perseverance especially in the beginning. The more motivated you are to change something in your life, the easier it will be.

That said, we promise you that your effort will be rewarded and you will feel great afterwards!

This session lasts a total of about 2 hours:

- Introduction and explanation (35 min)

- The real work of breathing (50 min)

- Integration (35 min)

Who is Sabrina Defeyter?

Besides her tech career as a freelance IT consultant, Sabrina work as a certified Transformational Breathwork Coach and 9D Breathwork Facilitator, with a true passion for personal development and transformation. Sabrina leads transformational breathwork and 1-on-1 coaching, with a mission to help as many people as possible to regain their own sense of inner peace, purpose and freedom from negative patterns.

Being an analytical thinker, she has sought to understand the roots of negative patterns through psychology. Even though she is grateful for all the insight this gave her, there seemed to be some stuff that she could not get rid of, no matter how well she understood them. That is where transformational breathwork came in and proved to effectively enable her to dissolve old traumas, regulate her own feelings and take control of her life.

Preparation:

- Do not eat a heavy meal in the 3h before the session. A lighter meal can be had up to 2h before the session.

- Do not drink alcohol or use recreational drugs the day of the session. The day before the session, 1 or 2 glasses is fine, but you don't want a hangover the day of the session.

- Make sure you are hydrated, but make sure you don't have to go to the bathroom while breathing (I also ask anyway before the start if anyone needs to go).

- Do not plan any busy activities after the session. It is advisable to set aside some time for yourself to process your impressions.

What do you need.

- A laptop with webcam and stable internet connection. The webcam should be positioned so that I can at least see your head and upper body during the session, so that I can clearly see if you are breathing correctly, and give you guidelines if not.

Once we are breathing, it is important that you can fully participate in the construction of the session. If you lose your internet connection at that point you will notice because the music will drop out. You can then try to fix your internet connection as quickly as possible and get back into the session, but of course we want to avoid that.

- Headphones or earbuds. The music is recorded in multiple layers (surround sound, binaural beats, solfreggio tones, etc). These sound effects are really designed to completely immerse you in sound to enhance the effect of the session.

Without headphones or earbuds, for example, the binaural beats have less effect.

- Your bed or a seat on which you can lie flat, or a yoga mat if necessary.

- A blanket in case you get cold during the session.

- A blindfold is not mandatory but is recommended, as it allows you to be less disturbed by light and more inside yourself.

- To maximize airflow, it is best not to lie with your head on a pillow, as your head will be bent forward, making it more difficult to breathe deeply. However, if you cannot lie flat for medical reasons, use a pillow under your neck if possible, and if even that is not an option, the least high pillow that is feasible for you.

- If you cannot lie completely flat because of back problems, you can also put a pillow under your knees to relieve your back.
