⏳ Just before sunset!

🗣️ Event language: English

On April 12, at sunset 🌇 , we celebrate an iftar at Clusity. We believe it is important to celebrate diversity and cultural diversity within our community and bring people together.

For many people, this is a special period of reflection and contemplation. Also in our Clusity community there are people who fast during Ramadan. Therefore, we would like to organize an iftar for them to show respect, increase inclusiveness and create an opportunity where we can network with each other, learn from each other and show solidarity.

Therefore, at this iftar everyone is welcome, male/female/... ; Muslims and non-Muslims, with or without iftar experience, ...

It is a great opportunity to meet, exchange experiences and make new connections. We also see here an educational opportunity for all non-Muslims in the tech community to learn more about Ramadan and Islamic culture.

🚌 Accessibility: the location is easily accessible by bike and car (lots of parking!). By public transport, count on another 15 min. walk. Would you like to ride together with someone? Let us know and we'll find a buddy!

🌮 Food: We will provide a vegetarian meal with several vegan options, and of course something to drink. You don't need to bring anything.

Program:

  • 8:00 p.m.: Arrival

  • 8:05 p.m.: Welcome from Clusity

  • 8:15 p.m.: Framework on iftar by Ayşe Tusem Güngör

  • 8:33 p.m.: Start of iftar meal & free networking

  • 9:15 p.m.: Speed networking

  • 9:45 p.m.: Closing of the event

Everyone welcome

Although the iftar has a religious significance, everyone, regardless of gender, orientation, religion, culture or background, can participate. It is a fine opportunity to meet new people, enjoy delicious food and enjoy the common values of respect, tolerance and understanding.

Our society is becoming more diverse and so are the cultural practices of the people in it. Our Clusity community reflects this diverse society. But many businesses and communities are wondering how best to deal with it. Do we celebrate all holidays or none? Or which ones? There may not be a single or exact answer to these questions. What we do know is that celebrating the important moments for the people in your community, network, business or environment, creates connection if you do it in clear consultation, listening well and tuning in. 🥰

What is an iftar?

An iftar is the first meal that Muslims consume after sunset during the holy month of Ramadan. During the month of Ramadan, Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset, which means not consuming any food or drink during daylight hours. Thus, iftar is the breaking of the fast. It is often a special and festive meal enjoyed with family and friends.

Sign up today. That way we can provide the food for everyone!
