Looking back: Intl. Girls in ICT day x KDG University of Applied Sciences
On 28 April, Clusity and KDG college celebrated the International 'Girls in ICT day'. The evening was filled with keynotes, important topics and questions, followed by a pleasant networking session. The goal? Bringing different generations together to share inspiration on women in tech!
CΓ©line Verwilligen kicked off the event with an impassioned speech about the stereotypes surrounding and the benefits of being a DevOps Engineer. The second speaker of the evening was Charmaine Pavloskova, who zoomed out and inspired the audience with her stance on the past, present and future challenges and opportunities for women in tech.
After the break, the hosts could welcome two more keynotes. Hannah Patronoudis' encouraging presentation showed how growth, creativity and innovation are intrinsically linked to the world of tech. Finally, the fourth and final speaker, Laila Deeb, shared her valuable insights on the possible career paths for junior developers.
The evening ended with a fun and interactive networking activity, to ensure that all guests went home with new ideas, contacts, information and ... a plant!

Wikipedia is widely used as a reference to document our history. Anyone can contribute to it, but Wikipedia itself reported that 85% of the writers are men. This creates bias in the documentation. On this Wikithon, an initiative of Valerie Tanghe, chairwoman of Amazone vzw, we will contribute as a group!
