Recap: InspiringFifty Deep Tech event
Last Friday, 22 April, we took a big step in connecting female deep tech role models and those who are inspired by them every day. Together with 21 InspiringFifty Deep Tech winners and other members of the community, we had an interactive, insightful and fun afternoon.
Elke KrΓ€mer made everyone reflect on their own similarity bias and gave some very practical examples and best practices to overcome it. During round table discussions, we came up with a series of actions, which some of you are already implementing, to increase diversity in tech recruitment.Β
We invited InspiringFifty Deep Tech winners Charlotte Kjellander, Sepideh Del and Lori Goff on stage to talk about the importance of role models in creating a new narrative for great leadership in deep tech. Being a role model can look different for everyone. To increase and diversify the number of nominations for the next InspiringFifty Deep Tech, Lori Goff challenged us all to set an ambitious, personal goal for sharing future InspiringFifty news and nominations. We can't wait to see the impact of that in our next edition!Β
Finally, it was time for awards! We invited three judges on stage to present the winners of the InspiringFifty Deep Tech Awards. Thank you, Lene Hviid, Tom Vanhoutte and Hans de Jong for being there and supporting this wave of inspiration. Seeing this large group of InspiringFifty Deep Tech winners on stage together gave us all energy. And, finally, we were able to connect - and inspire - many more during the post-event drinks. Together, with all of you present, this was an excellent kick-off for the InspiringFifty Deep Tech community. We are excited to build on this momentum and inspire more women in deep tech in the future.Β
Here are some "Pearls of Wisdom" that emerged from the table discussions!
