Retrospective: Passion for A.I. and Big Data X Brainjar
A passion for AI & Big Data, that's what everyone in the audience shared on the evening of 10/5. With Emilie Nenquin of VRT and Nele Gerrits of VITO speaking, we were welcomed into the offices of Brainjar, the co-hosts of the evening, were inspired by different use cases of AI & a nice networking session afterwards. Below you can find the presentations and the pictures of this wonderful evening! 👇🏽
In the first keynote, Emilie took us into the world of media. Media consumption is changing radically. At VRT, too, they have shifted up a gear. They are investing more in mobile media, working in a more personalised way and on demand. The VRT media users can consume content when they want it and when they ask for it. This requires not only a digital transformation, but also an evolution towards a more data-driven culture. What this means for VRT, how they are taking steps in this direction and where the big challenges still lie...
Afterwards, Nele gave an overview of the current challenges to deploy AI more reliably in clinical practice. Today, it is not easy to integrate AI models into a clinical workflow and this is partly due to low trust in the AI solution. Examples can be found where AI goes wrong and reports wrong diagnoses to the medical doctor. In her research at VITO, Nele examines how we can make a better estimation of the accuracy of AI in clinical practice and how we can detect wrong diagnoses by AI at an early stage.
