What does it take to take a company from €150-300k to €1 million? Véronique Bockstal wrote a book about it: 'De Vrouw Van 1 Miloen' which will be published in the autumn of 2021. Especially for the Clusity network, she will give a reading and presentation of her new book, followed by a pleasant networking opportunity to meet her in person.

One million euro turnover, that requires a shift in mindset, people and resources. What do you run into in that process and how can you overcome it? Discover how you can plan and systematise the growth of a company. It is about recognisable stumbling blocks and, above all, concrete tips to approach things differently.

There are fewer female entrepreneurs than male. We are less likely to start a business or self-employment. We stay longer without employees. We ask for and receive less funding. We stay longer in the 'dead zone' or lifestyle business where we earn just enough to support ourselves. Yet we do not lack passion, perseverance, ambition and certainly not the talent to scale. Entrepreneurship is not gender-specific. When women raise external capital, they actually perform better on average than male entrepreneurs. Might these new insights also shift something in the future for investors themselves?

With 'The woman of 1 million' Veronique addresses entrepreneurs who have the ambition to scale to a turnover of €1 million and more, but are looking for the right levers to reach that big milestone. Thanks to the insights and numerous practical tips from the book, they can fire themselves as Jill-of-all-trades and promote from smallpreneur to CEO of a growth company.

Who is Véronique Bockstal?

Véronique jumped into entrepreneurship late, after a corporate career and a career as an interim manager and consultant of more than twenty years. At the age of 50, she founded her first 'real' company. From that start-up period until she sold her company, she gained experience as an entrepreneur. After that, she started researching why 93% of all female entrepreneurs never reach the €1 million mark in turnover. From that research came action. Together with UCLL University of Applied Sciences, she founded the Female Founders Accelerator programme in 2019 to help female entrepreneurs pass that first major milestone. Besides being an entrepreneur, Véronique is also a guest lecturer and researcher at UCLL.
