Are you curious about the world of AI today? And what can you do? During this interesting evening that is completely dedicated to Artificial Intelligence, Emilie Nenquin will tell you more about it. Emilie Nenquin, Head of Data & Intelligence at VRT, and Nele Gerrits, senior researcher at the Flemish Institute for Technological Research and co-lead within AI4Health, will talk about their careers in AI. And how their technology is used in today's world.
This event is co-hosted by the wonderful people at Brainjar!
In the first keynote Emilie takes you into the world of media. Media consumption is changing radically. At VRT they have also started the digital acceleration. They are investing more in mobile media, working in a more personalised way and more on demand. The VRT media users can consume content when they want it and when they ask for it. This requires not only a digital transformation, but also an evolution towards a more data-driven culture. What this means for VRT, how they are taking steps in this direction and where the big challenges still lie ... this and much more Emilie will be happy to tell you in this keynote, illustrated with some very concrete examples.
Afterwards, Nele gives an overview of the current challenges to deploy AI more reliably in clinical practice. Today, it is not easy to integrate AI models into a clinical workflow and this is partly due to low trust in the AI solution. Examples can be found where AI goes wrong and reports wrong diagnoses to the medical doctor. In her research at VITO, Nele examines how we can make a better estimation of the accuracy of AI in clinical practice and how we can detect wrong diagnoses by AI at an early stage.
Who is Emilie Nenquin?
Emilie Nenquin started at VRT in 2017 as Manager Data & Intelligence. She built a high-performance team of data and AI experts. Under her leadership, the existing CRM tool was transformed into a powerful data & personalisation platform and initiatives were launched in the areas of analytics, AI and machine learning. This laid the foundation for a data-driven VRT. Previously, Emilie Nenquin worked for over 20 years in the financial sector. At ING Belgium, she led several teams with a focus on data exploitation, digital personalisation and customer experience. Emilie holds a Master's degree in Language and Literature and a Master's degree in Business Economics.
