Presenting in front of an audience can always be a little scary. How do I exude self-confidence? How do I keep my audience interested? During the event on public speaking, give Sandra D'Amario, IT Manager at Danone; Toastmasters organizer and TedX Coach Stefanie Geukens and Karina Quiñonez, User Adoption at Dynatos, answer all your questions!
After the success of this event last year, we decided to organize it a second time!
To warm up, we will start the event with a short keynote by Karina Quiñonez. Karina loved being in front of an audience from a young age. Public speaking thus became second nature, and because she also came in contact with it a lot in her professional life, she learned the tips & tricks that can take your performing skills to the next level. Discover how to beat fear with a clear purpose and how the scope of a speech goes beyond the stage alone!
The second part of the evening will feature a workshop led by Sandra D'Amario and her Toastmasters colleague Stefanie Geukens. In this workshop, you will get to work yourself directly with the techniques Sandra and Stefanie teach you step-by-step. The emphasis is on building self-confidence and feeling comfortable. Who is Karina Quiñonez?
Originally from El Salvador, Karina Quiñonez has lived in Belgium since 2005. With more than 25 years of experience in the IT world, today she is responsible for User Adoption at Dynatos. She started 25 years ago as a programmer and evolved to analyst, tester, documenter, trainer ... you name it! She is also co-founder of Xten - Encuentros para crecer, a non-profit initiative started by four friends. This initiative stands for contributing to the personal growth of Spanish-speaking women and, as a side effect, they have created the warmest community of Spanish-speaking women in Belgium!
Who is Sandra D'Amario?
Sandra D'Amario with her Italian roots, has over 23 years of work experience in IT. After studying languages, she started on the IT Help Desk at Electronic Data Systems. After positions as team lead in IT Messaging and Collaboration and Workplace Services Manager, she moved on to one of the top FMCG companies in the world, specifically Danone. Here she took on the role of IT Manager in Belgium. In addition to a career in IT, she is also a long-time member of Toastmasters in Antwerp. Here they focus on practicing public speaking in a friendly environment. Because of this experience, she is also part of the organizing team of TEDxAntwerp, where she has contributed the last four editions as speaker coach. So with her experience, she is the perfect person to provide tips & tricks on public speaking!
Who is Stefanie Geukens?
Stefanie Geukens started her career in the telecom sector after graduating with a Master's degree in Commercial Engineering, at Proximus. There she evolved from management trainee through different roles as data analyst, analytics translator for AI solutions to her current role of Product Owner within the Technical Journey domain. Since 4 years she has been a member of Toastmasters Antwerp. She is currently responsible for several Toastmasters clubs in Belgium and is speaker coach at TEDxAntwerp.
